The ENFSI Board as well as the chairmen of the Expert Working Groups and Standing Committees had a successful Joint Meeting in Riga, organized by the State Forensic Science Bureau of the Republic of Latvia. Amongst the topics discussed were the professionalization of the organisation by a clear description of the roles of the members of the steering committees of the Expert Working Groups, their use of the centrally managed financial means, the new intranet platform of ENFSI, as well as a further adjustment of the reimbursement rules for the travel expenses caused by Expert Working Groups. The planning and reporting cycle documents related to the latter were discussed regarding content and structure. The Fire and Explosion Working Group was rewarded for their excellent work during 2016.
The Board Members further discussed the candidates for the Quality and Competence Committee and reviewed the advancement in setting up the proposal for the Direct Grant 2016, allocated by the European Commission. Furthermore the Board decided to review the current field of play of the Expert Working Groups in the following meetings.
