Two-days workshop for forensic DNA scientists

Evaluation of DNA evidence at activity level by the forensic scientist is a major challenge in the field of human biological trace examination and DNA analysis.  This workshop will provide guidance in evidence interpretation and present the outcome of recent across-laboratory research in transfer, persistence and recovery of DNA.

During this workshop the latest results from studies by the ENFSI Monopoly 2013 project ‘DNActivity’ are shared. The workshop additionally aims to practice with the use of experimental data in a theoretical framework following the 2015 “ENFSI guideline for evaluative reporting in forensic science” to assess DNA typing results at activity level. The focus will be on practical aspects of both research and casework practice.
