10th EAFE (European Association for Forensic Entomology) Meeting

The 10th EAFE (European Association for Forensic Entomology) Meeting will be held in April 2013, in Portugal, in the city of Coimbra. It aims to further the understanding of this scientific branch of forensic sciences, to update knowledge concerning the most recent scientific advances in this field, and to identify the strengths and weaknesses of current research and its practical application. It also aims to provide an excellent opportunity to share ideas and experiences and, of course, to promote contact, cooperation and exchange between academics, researchers, students and professionals from all over the world.
Coimbra city is the former capital of Portugal and it’s one of the oldest and most important urban centres of Portugal, playing a role as the chief urban centre of the central part of the country. The city contains important archaeological remains dating from the time when it was the Roman city of Aeminium and is home to the University of Coimbra, the oldest academic institution in the Portuguese speaking world and one of the oldest universities in Europe, dated from 1290. The university attracts visitors from around the world due to its historically buildings and history, making the city an important tourist destination.
